Most people exist only
to be someone else
they parade in painted faces
wearing other people’s clothes
and speak in voices
that are not their own

The sad truth is:
they forget who they were
forever unfulfilled, and
strangers to those
they claim to love

*My dearest muse, having inspired this piece and many more, I thank you, for only ever speaking in your voice.  Your support has meant more than I could express.

    1. Very true. That’s a big part of it, too, being able to stand yourself, because it’s you, even if no one else can. I’m glad to hear that someone else out there uses their own voice!
