“The Fall of Rebirth”

glistering wet-bellied
crawl the corridor
spill guttural upon the soil

kneel again before the altar
of self-loathing
and curse the bitter flesh
that binds you to your sin

desecrate your temple walls
to further flagellate your own
and crucify the god above
to isolate the inner mind

find the lonely truth
that comes with desperation
love the stench of your excess
when hoping to dispel it

even this, not for you
but given by another
for acclaim means nothing
to the progenitor of thought

if then, you find yourself
exhausted of resource
you may cleanse your sanctuary
stand strong upon your planted feet
but only in the acceptance that
this too, is temporary.
